Insafe International ltd is recruiting for an experienced locksmith/safe engineer who will be based in the Peterborough area.

Locksmith/Safe Engineer 

This role requires enthusiastic candidates to carry out locksmithing and safe opening tasks at our clients’ locations throughout your area (usually up to a maximum of 2 hours travel time from your home). This will include repairs to existing equipment, including mechanical and electronic systems.

Duties will include (list is not exhaustive):
  • General locksmithing, i.e., lock-fitting, cylinder changes and pinning, key cutting, code changes to coded door locks, etc.
  • Safe opening & repair (dependent on ability).
  • Installing electronic safe locks.
  • Code changes to safe locks.
  • Programming of electronic safe locks.
  • Battery changes.

Training:
Since this is a role for an experienced candidate, we would expect candidates to have a good knowledge in this field. Additional and ongoing training will be supplied by Insafe, on client-specific products, to successful candidates.

Skills and experiences:
  • Both mechanical and electronic aptitude is essential.
  • A reasonable level of IT literacy is essential as we use a mobile platform for allocating jobs and reporting. Laptops are also used for programming electronic safe locks.
  • Experience in this field is a requirement.
  • Ability to work on one’s own while performing remote site visits.
  • A reasonable degree of physical fitness is required as the role can be physical from time to time.
  • A full valid UK driving licence is essential.
  • Since this role is within the security industry, candidates must not have a criminal record. CRB checks will be applied.

Other details:
  • A liveried vehicle is supplied equipped with the necessary stock, key cutting machines etc.
  • A mobile phone, laptop and tablet are provided.
  • Company uniform and PPE are provided.
  • 42.5hr standard week plus overtime (where available) and On-Call rota (one 7-day period per month).
  • Holidays are 20 days per annum plus Public Holidays rising to 25 days.
  • Salary is subject to experience and ability.
